HOW TO BATH A BABY

There are always many germs around babies. Therefore we should always keep them clean. So today we discuss how to bath a baby how to clean baby's mouth, how to clean baby's eyes, and many more other facts..

First ,let's see how to bathe a baby. Usually we don't bathe a newborn during first 24hrs.After 24 hrs..next day. If the baby is healthy , having a good birth weight and not a premature baby, we can bathe him. We should use cooled boiled water for bathing.

Don't mix hot water with cool water during first few months because this will support germs to enter into baby's body. Some mothers ask whether it's ok to add Venivelgeta (Coscinium fenestratum) and turmeric to this water. we do not aware about this according to knowledge of Western medicine.

According to Ayurvedic doctors Venivelgata can be added. But not Turmeric initially as it can causes allergies in babies. Initially we wash baby's head and wipe the head. Then we wash the body.

That's because baby can't tolerate cold. Also mothers ask what are the products that can be used for cleaning, soap or shampoo. You can use any of them. But don't use products which contain more chemicals. It's not necessary to clean baby's eyes. But some babies get more tears and rheum

If it's an infection as shown in these photographs we can notice swollen eye lids and reddness in sclera of the eye. If baby has no these signs usually that is a normal condition. There is a duct in which tears flow from the eye to nose (tear duct).

Once this duct is blocked it results increased secretion of tear and formation of rheum. For this you can clean eyes from inside to outwards with a clean cotton wool and clean water.

We can use breast milk instead of clean water also. Also we can massage this area in between eye and nose as a solution for this problem. Also mothers use cotton bugs to clean baby's ears.

Do not use those things. Usually we ask not to put anything into ears .

Because it is dangerous. Just wipe ears externally with a clean nappy like this.

It is not necessary to clean baby's mouth. Sometimes mothers use glycerine for this due to the presence of white colour residue over the tongue. But it is not needed. These will be disappeared. Sometimes we see white residue all over the mouth specially over

This could be a fungal infection. Cleaning the baby's neck area is necessary Because this area get contacted with breast milk and if weaning started probably with food particles. So this may cause fungal infection over the skin. So we should clean this area and always keep dry . Also baby's arm pits and groin areas should be kept clean and dry. In these areas you'll find whitish colur residue .This can be cleaned easily with a nappy after baby get a wash as skin is wet.
